Affiliation

Wow, you must want to affiliate with PokeNova! I'm somewhat flattered! Of course I'm not just going to affiliate with your site just because you requested to do so. However, I'm not going to give you requirements, but more so guidelines for what I expect from your site before you apply.

  • Firstly, I don't want my right menu to be cluttered with affiliate links and buttons, and I don't care about the amount of hits, page views or unique visits your site receives. I will not affiliate for hits.

  • Another great thing for your site to possess is a nice, clean layout. Not only is this a major factor, if your layout is eye hurting and set out horribly, there's next to no chance that I'll accept your affiliation request. If you're not the best graphic artist, you don't need to be! I've seen layouts constructed from mainly CSS, and they look beautiful!

  • The whole point of your site should be to provide your visitors with information. Therefore, your content should be interesting and leaving me wanting more. The content on your site will also impact greatly on whether I accept the affiliation request. Try staying away from generic content, such as game summaries and the skating Pikachu game. Visitors want something original so they can come back for more. If they've seen similar content on another site, they're not likely to return. Another thing with content is that it should contain correct spelling and grammar. It should have neatly constructed sentences that are easy to read and comprehend. You don't want a visitor reading through a page and not absorbing any information!

  • The thing I like most about particular Pokémon sites are their originality. I love to see content I've never thought of before, and the like. I also like to see original layouts. If everybody's making a spring layout, don't also make a spring layout. Make something different, original, unique!

  • There is absolutely no way that I am going to accept your site if it's blatantly obvious that you've used a What You See Is What You Get editor. I beg of you, please learn HTML and CSS! Sorry! :3

  • Most importantly, I need to like you and your site. If I've hovered around your site and received a bad impression it's not likely to have changed when I return. First impressions really are crucial. It's hard to change my opinion after you've made a horrible first impression of you and/or your site.

Notes

  • Watch out! I am picky. If I do not particularly like your site, I will most likely decline your request.

  • Please do not place my button up under your affiliates if I haven't replied or without even sending a request. Sure, place me under "Pending Affiliates" or something similar.

  • I will reply to every affiliation request I receive. If I haven't replied within a duration of a week, please e-mail me again.

  • If I accept your request, it is my decision what rank you'll be. The decision I make is not final! Sure, contest my decision if you wish, but good luck. Just because I put you under "Normal Affiliates" doesn't mean your site sucks, it simply means I think it has a lot of potential and that I like your site. I will move your site up when I believe it should be. However, feel free to contact me and request to be moved up!

  • I never move affiliates down or remove them, unless their site is inactive for three months, or the webmaster loses interest in their site and closes it.

  • Most importantly, if I decline your request - I do not hate you. In fact, I've given you suggestions for improvement, and I'll be more than happy to review your site once more after you've tweaked things a bit!

If you wish to continue and send me an affiliation request -- send me an e-mail or contact me over instant messenger. My contact details can be found here.
